Lesson 1: Meteorological Satellite Orbits


Objectives:

  1. Know the differences between GEO, LEO and precessing satellite orbits
  2. Know the advantages of each satellite orbit for observing the weather.

Prerequisite

    You should already be familiar with the spatial and temporal scales of different weather systems (e.g. annual cycles, small versus large spatial scale).
