To determine the height of the base of any cumulus cloud that might form due to lifting parcels of air near the surface, simply adjust the surface temperature and dew point using the sliders. (Our cloud will not form below 1000' or above
10,1000'.)

Questions to consider:

1. What happens to the cloud base altitude as the temperature and dewpoint approach on another?
2. Would you expect the cloud base altitude to be higher over the plains of Colorado or the Florida Pan-Handle?
